Summer can be a too hot to handle in some parts and precautions should be taken in order to have a safe and exciting summer. The temperature of the body can touch heights and therefore it is recommended to not expose you more to the sun during summers. Several things may occur due to hotness, such as a heatstroke or heat injury, dehydration and laziness. Over sweating in summers is the major cause of dehydration. The normal body temperature is 37 degree Celsius but if your temperature rises above 40 degree Celsius, it can cause damage to your vital organs.
This article elaborates several home remedies and foods to help you stay fresh, hydrated and avoid any heat injury in summers.
Aloe Vera Juice
Aloe Vera is a plant species with several medicinal and nutritional uses. About 8 oz of fortified Aloe Vera juice contains 9.1 grams of vitamin C; the same amount of Aloe Vera juice also contains just 36 calories. Getting enough vitamin C also enhances the body's ability to absorb iron from plant-based foods. Also, Aloe Vera juice can be a low-calorie alternative to sugary drinks and fruit juices.
Strawberries, Bananas, Grapefruit
I am sure that everyone loves to eat these fruits; they are easily available in summers and are very beneficial for the body during summers. Strawberry has about 92% of water content, which is the highest water content than any berry; bananas on the other hand have 74%, but they are loaded with potassium and are used as a post workout snack. Grapefruit has high water content up to 91%, it helps in cutting down the cholesterol level in the body, and it burns the fat, so if you are looking for a sexy waist line, then grapefruit is the best pick.
Water, Apple Cider Vinegar and Lemon Juice
It's always been advised by our elders that you should drink at least 8 glasses of water each day during summers. However, we often don't follow and forget to do so. If you don't want to drink just water, then add a few drops of apple cider vinegar and honey to chilled water; the mixture will help replenish body electrolytes and minerals. Lemon Juice on the other hand is a great source of Vitamin C, it?s refreshing and a great summer drink.
Cauliflower and Spinach
Surprisingly Cauliflower has a water content level of 92%, which is enough to hydrate your body. It also has vitamins and nutrients that lower the risk of cancer and cholesterol level in the body. On the other hand Spinach has magnesium, high levels of potassium, and sodium that hydrate the body and keeps you fit during summers.
Cucumber, Watermelon, and Radish
Cucumber has to be on the top of the salad list in summers; it is loaded with mineral salts and keeps the body hydrated. Both cucumber and Radish have almost 96% of water content, they are considered as cooling foods because they have heat-dissipating properties. At the last, but not the least, we have watermelon; a delicious fruit with high water content and high levels of lycopene, which is a cancer fighting antioxidant.
