Free Grammar Checking APIs and how they work.
With advancements in technology, the human race has come up with a solution for almost everything in the modern world. If you are a Blogger or a Content Writer, it is obvious that you will create content and you will surely be making mistakes, whether it be in grammar, paraphrasing, or spellings. Well, no need to worry about that as well; today there are many grammar and spelling checking APIs (Application programming interface) that help you make your content perfect to the standards of the English Language. This article will sum up some of the free grammar checking APIs and how they work.

How do they work?
The Grammar checking softwares have a simple yet complicated AI behind their programming, they are designed to check the patterns of errors in the English language and for that many actual mistakes have to be fed to the software, they are programmed in such a way that if they encounter a mistake in your text they check it in their library of mistakes for which they are designed. If the specific mistake is not there in the library it won?t catch it. Same goes for the spell check programs. So a good grammar checker must have a very large list of such mistakes, and must check for all of them in every text it examines.
Bing Spell Check- This is a Microsoft created grammar and spell check API. This 3rd gen spell-checker leverages machine learning and statistical machine translation to dynamically train a constantly evolving and highly contextual algorithm. The spell-checker is based on a massive corpus of web searches and documents. It has two checking modes, The Spell Mode and the Proof Mode. The Spell mode finds most spelling mistakes but doesn't find some of the grammar errors that Proof catches, for example, capitalization and repeated words.

LanguageTool-  LanguageTool is a free and open-source spell and grammar checker, which can be used as a plug-in for LibreOffice, OpenOffice,Firefox, and Google Chrome, or as a stand-alone desktop application. It can also be integrated on websites. Started by Daniel Naber for his diploma thesis in 2004, it now supports 31 languages. Based on error detection patterns, rules are created and then tested for a given text.

TextGears-  It is an organized grammar checking software for writers in different fields; it helps in spelling checking, analysis of text and suggests correct word order. It is compatible for mobiles and personal computers. It has its API servers in the USA, Singapore, and Netherlands. Its is free upto 250 requests/month with 250 requests/day limit and the character limit is 4096 per request. However, for 3$ per month you can make 1000 requests.

Grammarly- Today, Grammarly is the most promoted Spelling and grammar checking software in the market. You can check your content for free on Grammarly, however the suggestions are limited up to spelling checks, punctuation, and minor errors on the free trial. If there are advanced errors you will have to subscribe to the premium version of the software. Grammarly is easy to use and has a food user interface.
