According to a study the indigestion and acidity problems have doubled in a decade. Acidity has a lot of names like heartburn and acid reflux. Acid Reflux can causes discomfort and problems like esophageal cancer; too much surging stomach acid can create a web of scars in the esophagus, causing food to get stuck on its way down. Research also has connected acid reflux with an increased risk of esophageal cancer. People with hyper acidity are associated with the symptom of burning sensation in the throat and heart area. And it can be deadly. 


So, here are ways in which you can keep acidity under control and refrain from heavy loss. 

Hyper-acidity is caused by eating foods that are excessively sour, hot, and spicy; increasing the intake of alcohol; and eating oily and fried foods. 

Smaller and frequent meals- Large meals put pressure on the muscle that normally helps keep stomach contents from backing up into the esophagus. The more you eat, the longer it takes for the stomach to empty, which contributes to acid reflux. So, take in small meals regularly to avoid indigestion. 

Lifestyle Changes- If you are a person who sleeps late in the night and wakes up at mid-day, then indigestion will struck at some point. You must maintain a healthy daily routine, avoid eating late night meals and right after you wake up get down into a squat position and drink warm water, drink at least a glass the first day then slowly increase it up to 4 glasses but never force it. This all will help you get a healthy stomach. 


Diet Ingredients- Fresh fruits will help you a lot, apple is considered as the most suitable for indigestion problems. You can also eat small quantities of other fruits too as a fruit salad especially papaya and other seasonal fruits. Cut off all the carbonated beverages no matter what and where or when. If you really have to drink something then drink natural milk, moreover stop consuming all fried food and fast food. But you can switch to green tea and drink enough water throughout the day. 

 Exercise- Physical fitness has been a cure to any disease in the human body and so it is for acid reflux. Normal exercises like going out for a walk or jogging in the morning or evening or going to the gym helps change the symptoms of heartburn a lot. Don't exercise right after meals give your stomach time to empty but also don’t just lay down, walk at little. 


Other things to do- Chew sugarless gum after a meal. Chewing gum promotes salivation, which helps neutralize acid, soothes the esophagus, and washes acid back down to the stomach. But avoid peppermint-flavored gum, which may trigger heartburn more than other flavors. Identify and avoid foods associated with heartburn. Common offenders include fatty foods, spicy foods, tomatoes, garlic, milk, coffee, tea, cola, peppermint, and chocolate.
