All about the American Music Awards and Ed Sheeran’s gig in India.
This week had a lot for the music lovers, the recently concluded American Music Awards and the Ed Sheeran performing for the second time in India.
The first ever AMAs were held in 1973 by ABC network and unlike the Grammys which are awarded on the basis of votes by members of the Recording Academy, the AMAs are determined by a poll of the public and fans.
The 45th Annual American Music Awards took place on the 19th November, in Los Angeles in California, each fall the ABC network celebrates the latest and the greatest talents of the contemporary music scene. This year Trace Ellis Ross hosted the event and there were performances by Lady Gaga, Shawn Mendes, Selena Gomez, Imagine Dragons, BTS and many more. Bruno Mars had the most number of nominations and he too grabbed the most number of Awards.

Another event that everybody was desperately waiting for was the Ed Sheeran concert in Mumbai, India. This was the 2nd time the singer performed in India, and it was magical. Previously Ed had performed in India in 2015. A night before the concert Ed attended a party hosted by choreographer Farah Khan, celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Sahid Kapoor also spotted in the party.
During the concert Ed Sheeran sported a blue kurta, and the audience swayed to his tunes He opened the gig by his popular track ‘Castle on the hill ‘, the pop sensation left the audience gasping for breath as he further perform songs like ‘Shape of you’, ‘Galway Girl’, ‘thinking out loud’ and many more. ‘India, you are special’, said kurta- clad Ed while performing only with a guitar and a loop station.
