Video Shows Israeli Sniper Shooting at a Palestinian
Jerusalem, Israel
A disturbing footage has emerged showing an Israeli sniper shooting a seemingly unarmed and motionless Palestinian man in the Gaza Strip, followed by hooting in the background.
The Israel Defence force (IDF) in response said that an initial inquiry found the shooting had taken place on 22 December, 2017, when one of its soldiers injured the man in his leg during what it called violent riots. At the time, protests were held in Gaza and the West Bank following US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

What is the Palestinian Protest at the Israel-Gaza Border about?
Israeli forces have killed nearly 30 Palestinians and wounded hundreds more in two weeks of mass protests at the Gaza border. Last Friday, 18 Palestinians were killed and over 700 wounded at a rally.
An Extremist group called the ?Hamas? organized a rally last week. The ?Hamas?, which controls the Gaza Strip ? meant to kick off weeks of demonstrations calling for the ?right of return? for the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and their descendants who fled or were displaced from their homes after the creation of the state of Israel.
The tens of thousands of Palestinians who have taken part in the demonstrations are also protesting the crippling land, sea, and air blockade that Israel and Egypt have imposed on Gaza since 2007, when Hamas took power and kicked out the US-backed Palestinian Authority government.
The short clip was widely shared on social media and shown on Israeli prime-time television. It appears to have been filmed through a pair of binoculars. It shows several young men in the distance, meters from the fortified wire perimeter fence.
?Do you have a bullet in the barrel?? asks a voice off-camera in Hebrew.
A shot is heard and the man falls suddenly.
?Wow, what a video. Yes! Son of a bitch!? another person says as people are seen running towards the victim to help.
?Wow. They hit someone in the head,? says an off-camera voice.
IDF stated that its troops were responding to ?a violent riot, which included rock hurling and attempts to sabotage the security fence?. The IDF said it had issued verbal warnings, used riot dispersal methods and fired warning shots. After none of these were successful, a single bullet was fired towards one of the Palestinians.
