Yeah you read it right; there is a particular term for the activities regarding use of firearms in the US, it?s called the ?Gun Culture.? It involves attitude, behaviors and beliefs of the citizens of the US when it comes to the use of guns. Gun Culture is found in different parts of the world and some of the most known Gun Cultures are found in Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Australia, etc. The US has the highest number of estimated guns per 100 people, at 120.5 guns for every 100 people. 35% to 42% of the households in the country have at least one gun. And it's a matter of fact that US civilians own 393 million firearms. The numbers are huge and Gun Culture is a part of the American politics. And when politics is involved, then two groups are definitely going to argue over opposing ideologies. 

This article will throw some light on the Gun Culture in the USA and the problems that it has caused in the recent past. 

Since 1982, there have been more than 90 mass shootings in the US. Assaults by firearm kill about 11,000 people in the US each year. The recent shooting was in Pittsburg, California (27th Oct, 2018) when eleven people were killed and a number of others were injured after a shooting at The Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill. And many more such incidents have taken place in the recent years be it the Parkland Florida school shooting or the Orlando Night Club shooting. Alone 33,600 deaths were caused by guns in 2016 in the USA, of which 22,900 were suicides. 

This is what Donald Trump said while addressing the recent shooting, 

"Little to do" with US gun laws. "If they had protection inside, maybe it could have been a different situation." 

This is saddening. (Guns in America cost almost $200 for a handgun while $1500 for an Assault rifle.) And now look let?s have a look at the laws that bide the citizens of United States to hold weapons. 

The Second Amendment of the US Constitution protects individual gun ownership. The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Firearms are widely used in the United States of America for self-defense, hunting, and recreational uses, such as target shooting. 

When it comes to Gun politics, it is polarized between the conservatives and the liberals; the conservatives support decreasing regulations related to gun ownership while the liberals advocate for gun control support increasing regulations related to gun ownership. 

According to several intelligence agencies, US topped the list in gun-related killing as a percentage of homicides with 64%, followed by Canada, Australia, and the UK. 

Let?s have a look at some of the worst mass shootings in the US since 1991. 

There is also an organization called the NRA (National Rifle Association) which believes that more guns make a country safer and campaigns against all forms of gun control in the US. And it?s not a small group, it?s damn powerful. Almost one in five US gun owners say that they are members of the NRA.
