Kedarkantha Peak Trek, Uttarakhand (Moderate) 
Best time- December- March- Trek Distance 20kms 
This is the top winter treks of India and the summit often attracts many rookie enthusiasts and tourists. The main attraction of this trek is the 360 degree view of the great mountain ranges such as Swargrohini, Bandarpoonch, Black peak etc. Kedarkantha trek also offers skiing and other winter sports activities. Locals also say that the sunrise at Kedarkantha is once in a lifetime opportunity, so, don't miss out of this popular trek this winters. 
Chadar/Zanskar Trek, Ladakh (Difficult) 
Best time ? January-February- Trek Distance 105kms 
 ?Chadar? is a Hindi word which means ?sheet?; In this trail you will walk over the river Zanskar which freezer in the winters and in the night you will have sleep in caves. Zanskar Valley presents an intriguing yet challenging trek as it is most exciting high altitude treks in the world. The activity starts at Chilling and continues till Lingshed, from where you will have to walk on the frozen River Zanskar. Only pro level trekkers are recommended for this trail. 
 Chopta Chandrashila Trek, Uttarakhand (Easy) 
Best time- October- July, Trek Distance 14kms 
Another popular trek in the Uttarakhand region is the Chandrashila Peak trek or the 'moon stone' trek. On the way you will also have the opportunity to visit the Tunganath temple, the highest Shiva temple in India situated at 12,877 ft. above sea level. The steep hike begins after the temple and once you reach the Chandrashila peak the view in breathtaking. The 360 degree panorama view offers a beautiful vision of Nanda Devi, Kedar, Trishul and Chaukhamba peaks and an amazing all-embracing view of the Garhwal Himalayas. 
Chanshal Pass and Saru Lake Trek, Himachal Pradesh (Moderate) 
Best time- December- July, Trek Distance 16kms 
Not many people know of 'Chanshal Top' that is close to Rohru in Himachal Pradesh. This hike is way more beautiful than the other popular treks in Himachal Pradesh. Chanshal peak (14,830 ft above sea level) is the highest peak in the Shimla district. The Chanshal pass is accessible by road from May to December. Lake is only 8kms from the Chanshal top. The trek is a short trek of only 4 days. If you are a first-time trekker then Chanshal Lake Trek is ideal for you. It is almost a straight trek of 8kms with few slopes. The trek starts from Chanshal Pass itself and heavy snow offers and ideal carpet to walk on.
