Two goals in the injury time helped Brazil get a win over the Mesoamerican country Costa Rica on Friday. Costa Rica tried so hard to get a clean sheet but at the end of the day, it was Brazil who stole away 2 goals in the injury time to end the Costa Rican dream.

Costa Rica had lost their first group match against Serbia, and they had to win this one to stay alive in the run to glory. Brazil on the other hand played a draw against Switzerland on their maiden league match. Since, 1960 Brazil had won 9 out their 10 meetings against Costa Rica.
None of the teams added to the goal tally until the first half; Douglas Costa came in for Brazil in place of Willian at the start of second half whereas Christian Bolanos substituted Marco Urena for Costa Rica at the 54?. Brazil dominated the second half with Philipe Cutinho creating more than 3 chances for the Brazilian side.

We were in the last ten minutes and the scores were still balanced at 0-0, frustration boiled as striker Neymar won a penalty for the Brazilians but was denied by the referee through VAR. Costa Rica on the other side had not had a single shot at goal since the 15th minute.
It was at 90+1? that Philipe Cutinho fired the ball at the back of the net, taking Brazil at a goal lead. Marecelo?s cross from te right flank was knocked down by Firmino, Jesus took at first touch and later was drilled in by Cutinho.
At 90+6? Neymar Jr. got his goal of the evening as he converted Douglas Costa?s cross from the right. It was game over for Costa Rica. The Brazilians had almost 3 quarters of the ball possession (72%) and 22 shots on target.
